So, I post these images hesitantly, unsure if I will hurt Holt's feelings by revealing some of their inner workings. I somehow doubt this will be reached by anyone who would mind either way, but I felt I should share what Alisha and I found would be up and coming looks in the fall of 2010!
Okay, so oh my gosh, I found this divine beauty in the sale section: Rebecca Minkoff's Easy Rider purse! So gorgeous, the leather was delicate like the skin of a stingray, so tender I felt I could easily rip it with my nails. I'm sorry, I've been having wet dreams about this purse! Let's carry on!
Chanel purse covered in rhinestones? Yes please!
I personally love the bowling-bag shape of purses. I always feel like I'm on my way to get some phosphate with the gang at Pop Tate's.
And for some reason I can't tilt the images (it's a process... I may be the tech nerd but I often can't find the most basic things and no there isn't a button!)
So here is a pea-soup jacket with high collar! Anything with the pea-soup tone as an accessory (bangle, hat) or jacket is key to your fall wardrobe this year!
Granny cardigans and speckled knit are essential in layering, even if the top layer is shorter... I never could get the hang of that look but I do like it on this mannequin!
Ugh. I think this was one of my other favourites in the store. I love cameos, and I love altered cameos... so an altered cameo with a SKELETON FACE is basically a dream come true to me. I sometimes wish I was more of a spender than a DIY'er, I would have gotten this rather than adding it to my never-ending list of things to silkscreen.
I also love the military jacket overtop. I'm glad Toronto's fashionistas have finally come to terms with the need to be warm (see: Canadian Goose jackets and mukluks as well).
Geometric furs? I can dig it!
And here are some images of the storefronts - with the theme of England. Why not associate England with Fall? Bold vibrancy marked by leathers and earth tones!
Some other things to keep in mind:
-layered lace
-leather
-denim (really dark or really acid wash)
-golds/blacks in jewelry
-rust in bottoms (skirts, pants, boots)
-pea soup green accessories (hats, belts)
-heavily detailed rings (animals like wolves, tigers)
-beasts as imagery in general (maybe not the three wolf moon t-shirt anymore but along those lines, only MORE fierce - if possible)
NEED SOME MUSIC?
Go to www.wearehunted.com - they have some of the best tracks of "the moment" - it's as easy as going to Pitchfork! It's a great source of new tunes that greatly suit multi-tasking.
Oh and can I just say how much I want this girl's grey sweater? I found her on www.lookbook.nu... go figure!
I suppose that's all for now!
